to the gm workers

Is it true that you can time your truck by turning it to 0 degrees then pull the black and orange tracer wire I was just told about that. I alway's get mine scanned but if I am out on the road I might need to do that just to get me back to the scanner. Just a curious.

Re: to the gm workers

That won't work on a 96 or newer because there is no way to bypass the timing as on the pre-96. The timing should never change much unless you have a bad ditributor gear or timing chain stretch and they will run with the distributor not being perfect +/- 2 degrees is in spec and it won't set a code until your 15 degrees out on a V8(can't adjust distributor at all on the V6)
