cheap and fast

new here.... anywho, I'm looking for a first car. there's a track near my house, and they have drag races every week. mainly ricers. and I'd like something cheap that could easily be restored and raced. any suggestions? I'm a big mopar fan.

Re: cheap and fast

I don't think you'll be able to find a mopar for cheap that can be easily restored, unless it's a 4 door Dart or Coronet or something. Best of luck to you...

Re: cheap and fast

Cheap Mopar = A-body
Dart, Duster, Demon, Valiant, Scamp, etc.
Find one with a 318 or larger V8, swap in a 340 or 360, and have fun.

http://www.valiant.org/abodies.html

My first car was a 74 Plymouth Scamp with a 225 /6; 49k original miles for $1200.

Talking Dusters

Dusters make some WILD drag cars...a buddy of mine had one and he custom fabricated the rods and other internals...it turned out to be one nasty duster.
