Wont turnover

Came home from work other night and my car wouldnt hardly start, sounded like a dead battery, turning over really slow. I got home (was on lunch) and found the battery connector loose so I tightened this and figured it was the problem, but it wasnt. When I left to go back to work it was worse and when I got off it barely turned over at all but started. I put the battery charger on it when I got home but it was full charged. I think its the starter but wanted to know if anyone else has had this.

Re: Wont turnover

first clean your teminals really good, then take your starter to autozone, oreileys, or napa and have them test it, or test it yourself, its really easy, the bolt is positive and you can just ground out the starter by touching it to a bare spot on the engine or touching the neg teminal post directly, then tap a wire from the bolt on the solenoid and see if she winds up good, although dont let it do it for long, spinning with no load could ruin the starter if thats not was it is

also are you positive your battery was fully charged? your battery could have a dead cell or 2, or your alt is shot, but if the battery is good, i would put money on the starter or the starter solenoid

Re: Wont turnover

no shit, I know how to put on battery terminals and test a starter, just wanted to know if it seemed like a dead starter to anyone else. Usually they make a winning noise when they go out. I pulled it off a few minutes ago (pain in the ass to get that bottom bolt out). It is bad. A messed up alt wouldnt cause the car not to crank is the battery is charged.
