Hey Guys, Anybody can give me any information about my car's problem. The engine is shakin when I'm at stop or on park and the muffler at the back sounds like coughing. I already change the spark plug, apark plug wires, ignition rotor, air filter, fuel felter and engine oil/filter oil. The cylinder pressure is alright and the fuel injectors. I have no idea anymore what else is causing this problem.
I'll appreciate it if you could give me some info to fix my car. Thanks |

Re: 93 Accord Engine Shaking
Did the problem start after you changed out the parts you mentioned?

Re: 93 Accord Engine Shaking
B4 I swapped my engine I was having similar problems once I got the engine out of the bay I found out all of my motor mounts were in bad shape, but that would not explain the problems you are having with your muffler.

Re: 93 Accord Engine Shaking
Yeah im with 91 on this, worn motor mounts are very common with the older hondas with higher mileage. Do a search on this forum and you should find all the necessary info on that. Muffler problem would not be related though, perhaps an exhaust leak?

Re: 93 Accord Engine Shaking
on my 91 i have the same problem, not the muffler tho(just the shaking) your going to have to check all your timing belt pulleys and see if all the markings are aligned. on my car the crankshaft pulley or harmonic balancer bolt was cracked and the key kept ripping and making a bigger hole for itself sense the pulley was so lose.. so before it gets anyworse id check the timing belt alignments

Re: 93 Accord Engine Shaking
If you have done everything to the car I suggest you put a rag just over muffler exhaust. The pressure should always be pushing the rag out. If the rag gets sucked into the pipe(not constanly just intermittenly), then you have an exhaust leak and no matter how many things you change, the engine will continue to shake.
