fIRST question is, did it have one to begin with? No matter, steps are all the same.
Inside the door, where the mirror would appear to screw or bolt in, there is a little black plastic cover thing over it. Pry the cover away, and you should be able to see 3 screws holding the mirror in. Remove the screws, and the mirror should just pull out. As a Haynes manual or Chilton would say, Installation is the reverse of removal.
Is it power? If it is power, there should be some connectors, just disconnect those, and reattach them for the new one. If its just a wire, my suggestion would be to strip them and solder them together. If you just splice them together and tape it up, theres a good chance the splice will fail because of corroding. Solder it, then tape it.
