Service vehicle soon light ????
99 Pontiac Grand Am GT 90,000 miles. Runs great, the service vehicle soon light came on, noticed that the daytime running lights were not working, however at night, the light goes off and the lights are working. Minus one, because it burnt out.
I am just wondering what to tell the mechanic so they think I know somethng and won't get bombarded with more than what is actually wrong. I am thinking that the DRL or ALC sensors are bad.... |

Re: Service vehicle soon light ????
I think I would replace the bad bulb first and see if it changes anything

Check the micro relays in the engine bay fuse block. I think the ones to check would be #'s 19, 20, and 22.

The 1999 and up Grand Am's "SERVICE VEHICLE SOON" light comes on when a headlight is burnt out. This causes the daytime running lights not to work. Simply replace the burnt headlight and the "SERVICE VEHICLE SOON" light will not come on.

Re: Service vehicle soon light ????
I had a burned out lowbeam and the service vehicle soon light never came on. However the signal lights would flicker twice as fast.

Re: Service vehicle soon light ????
Usually when the flashers blink faster than normal, it means there is a "break" in the system, meaning a bulb somewhere is burnt out.
