94 Lebaron - Help w- Low / No oil pressure

My wife just notified me that our 94 Lebaron GTC didn't make it home last night, she had driven it about 1 mile and said the oil gauge went "crazy". She pulled it over and walked home. I picked it up last night, started with no problem and drove it back, but the gauge indicated no pressure. It's the 3.0L V6, any thoughts on where I start. 87000 miles, just topped off the oil last week with 1 qt - it does leak a little bit around the valve cover, didn't check how much was needed, just "knew" it was time. Maybe I filled it too much? Been a good and fun vehicle so want to fix it, but would like to know what I'm getting into before taking it to the shop.

Re: 94 Lebaron - Help w- Low / No oil pressure

Does it knock? is it out of oil again?

The oil pressure sending unit goes bad, and will light up the chek gauges light and jump all over the place.

don't give up yet!

Thanks for the reply. There is oil and it doesn't knock. I headed straight for the oil sending unit. I metered out the cable to the gauge which worked fine, but metering out the sending unit, didn't go too good. I can't see the pins to meter them so, I'm just sort stumbling around with the meter leads. Decided to take a chance and change it anyway, however it looks like I have to take the starter out just to get a wrench on the darn thing. Having the right tool (a short stubby open end wrench) would be nice. Do you know if everything is metric on the engine? Any idea what size the nut is on the sending unit?
