New Stereo no sound from Rear speakers

Ive tried installing my new stereo into my 99 prelude. The only problem is that I get no audio from my rear speakers. From what I have read up its because of the Acoustic Feedback System. What I can tell from reading about it is that if I directly connect the head unit directly to the rear speakers I will blow out my head unit. So can anyone tell me how to wire through the AFBS and make my rear speakers work? This would help a lot. Thanks.

Re: New Stereo no sound from Rear speakers

i thought the AFS system was just a little amp, it should work by just plugging in. if you haven't...try reading this...its possibly the best guide to 5th gen audio.

Yea Ive read that in and out. But it doesnt tell me how to fix the rear speakers. In fact it seems a bit contradicitary because it says "you will overheat the head-unit if you attempt to connect these directly to a typical head-unit (if you are trying to by-pass the AFBS amp)" and then it has a section called "Can I use a new head-unit with the AFBS engaged?"

I have read about people having simmlar problems but no one posted a remedy for it.

Has anyone installed their own head unit and ran into this problem?

Re: New Stereo no sound from Rear speakers

check out how you hooked up the speakers. On my deck there are two way's to setup the speakers, and on one way, the back speakers get connected to the subwoofer function. If you have a subwoofer control on your deck, make sure it's on, or make sure you have everything running to the right outputs.

stop what u r doing!!! first check if the rears are hooked up to the afbs. if u havent touched them yet then they should be. now this means you wired your hu wrong. all you got to do is match the colors up. i think on the 5th gens they even have tabs that say "rear" or "front" on the wires. all u got to do is match them up with the hu. just asking, did u buy a wiring harness?
