Rim sizes in width

what would be the biggest rim size you guys would go for in width, i'm thinkin' about gettin' some new rims for my car, but i dunno what width to go with, i'm goin 17" , i'd like to go with a 17x10 but i dunno if it'll rub or not, if it will then i think i can go 17x8 safely. what do you guys think?

i wanna go with these rims

Re: Rim sizes in width

i belive the widest you can go with, with only rubbing in extreme cornering is 275 wide tire. So what ever fitsa 275.

Re: Rim sizes in width

There's a guy in my town sporting 20x9s un-bagged, no rub (except under heavy load) on his mn-12. 18x9s are as big as I would go personally, I would say the 10s would rub, and the backspacing will be greater, causing the tire to stick out slightly from the fender well. Rolling the lip of the fenderwell will be necessary and even then might stick out slightly >>>> 17x7,8,9, or 18x7,8,9 are my overall recommendations for proper "bolt-up" fitment with minimal hassles.
