Cool Donaldson lid and filter

Hi to all,
The Donaldson Lid for $112 and filter for $29 from SLP. Will these items do anything for my 2002 SS or am I wasting money?

Thanks for comments,
Robert

Re: Donaldson lid and filter

Does the SS have an upgraded lid or is it just stock?? Pick up the new Chevy High Performance, they just did a piece on LS1 intake lids. They tried like 6 of them out and rated them for quality and fit and I think they tested the power on all of them.

Re: Donaldson lid and filter

The most you will get out of that is 5 to 7 RWHP, MAYBE.

You would be better off with an FIPK

Re: Donaldson lid and filter

The SLP lid and Donaldson filter will be good for that price. it may be better to find an SLP dealer rather than going directly through SLP though. SLP PP is known for their crappy customer service and sometimes slow deliver times.

Re: Re: Donaldson lid and filter

Those lids are sooooo expensive for absolutely no noticable upgrade. On my friends '98 we just sanded down the grooves on the underside of the lid. thats the only difference, so why pay a hundred dollars for it? and the filter... just get a K&N so that you'll never have to change it again.

Re: Donaldson lid and filter

Holley filter is better then the K and N... Bigger gains on dyno and track.
