Angry Refuses to start!

I'm a newbie, I love my 2002 VW GTI 1.8T manual (36K), but today it decided not to start. I have had no mechanical problems with it before. I've had it for over a year (it was used) and it has run beautifully. When I would turn the key it would begin to sound like it was starting and then putter out. I don't think it was the battery because the windows, the stereo, and the clocks and such still worked. I had just filled the tank 30 miles beforehand, and the oil change was 2,000 miles old.

I am really frustrated! I've never had this problem with a car before.

Interestingly enough, a couple months ago I was trying to sell it and decided not too because I figured that it was 'reliable' for my new long commute....ha,ha.

A solution...

After much trouble and debate my mechanic found the starting problem. A $9 fuel pump fuse. Of course with laber and the tow the total was closer to two hundred. I hope this may help anyone else who has this mysteriously happen to them. Perhaps it would save on some of that 'labor'. Ha,ha. ;-)
