Installing front strut bar.

Ok , so this is a dumb question but wondering if anyone knew how to install a upper front strut bar for a 03 eclipse gs? I got a freedom design and was wondering if it mattered which way it got installed...like the lettering freedom design facings towards the front of the car or upside facing the front windshield..?

Re: Installing front strut bar.

it wouldnt matter cause there equal sides on the strut bar and its design to handle both ends opposite or reverse what have you....

Re: Installing front strut bar.

The freedom design bar is much more for looks than actual chasis stiffening. Try to source a GT bar for your year and you will be much happier. It may not have the 'bling' factor of the freedom bar, but it will be a better stiffening bar as it attaches to the firewall as well.

Re: Installing front strut bar.

If you have an RS/GS, you will not be able to do a direct attachment to the firewall becaue the RS/GS models do not the middle mount that the GT/GT-S has.

And the GT does have the best design of the strut bat available for the 3G.

Those of you with an RS/GS like myself who want to install the FSTB that comes stock with the GT/GTS, make sure you tell the parts guy @ the dealer that you will need the FSTB and the two mounting brackets to attach it to the strut towers. my parts guy had no freakin clue what was going on, so i had to bring him out to the lot, and pop open the hood of a V6 model to show him. Johnny's entirely right - the I4 models are missing the middle mounts to attach the FSTB to the Firewall - but my question is - are they seperate parts, or part of the frame, i'd love to be able to buy them as seperate parts. if @ all possible would anyone be able to check under their hood to find this out for me? if not it's rly no big deal, but i was just curious to find out the part numbers.
