Brake Switch

I have a problem with the Brake Switch. When I hit the brakes, the lights on the stereo dim (just like they would dim when you turn the headlights on).
Also at when I turn the headlights on, the brake lights at the back come on. The cruise control thinks that the brakes are bein applied and it never comes on.

It seems like the switch that senses the brake pedal being pressed is done in. Any thoughts on how to change it would be appreciated. Also let me know if I have mis diagnosed the problem. Thanks and Regards.

Fix it Fast!!!

I let this exact problem go and it turned into a $600 problem. You have a bad ground on the wiring to your brakes and turn signals. The more u use the brakes and turn signals, the more likely it will burn out the connectors and circuits inside your tail lights. All Chevy dealers are aware of where this short takes place. Good Luck!!
