Winshield Wiper Problems

My intermittent wiper settings are not working properly. The wipers jerk back and forth as they go over the windshield when on. If I put the wipers on low or high they work fine. No jerking. Anyone expriencing this? Any suggestions.

recall?

Check with your local dealer, but there was some talk of a recall involving an improperly sealed wiper control box. Something about moisture getting in and causing eratic behaviour like wipers not working, working when they weren't switched on, doing other strange things. I believe the remedy was a Goretex patch applied over a vent hole that's allowing water to enter.

Might be related to your problems...

Re: Winshield Wiper Problems

I had a module go out once that controls the wipers but the wipers completely quit when this happened. I suppose it could be an intermittent failure in the module.

I have the rain sensor on mine and it's terrible. I'm not sure what it senses because it will wipe when it shouldn't and not wipe when it should. I checked with the dealer about a possible calibration adjustment or just turning the rain sensor off completely but neither could be done. Won't get the option again, that's for sure.

Good luck.

I had mearly the same problem on bouth my Tahoe and S10-Blazer wipers stoped in different places on windscreen and sometimes they didnt stoped when switched off.
It was the solderingpoints on the cicuitboard in wipermotor to the cableconnector who was bad just to resolder them then it was working like brandnew again....
Hope you understand my pour english

Re: Winshield Wiper Problems

A new GM recall has been issued in regards to this problem.
It has to do with improperly sealed wiper motors.
Call your dealer and inquire if your vehicle is involved in the recall
