Fuel Pump
I started my 95 astro this morning, it hit once then just turned over with no fire. I disconnected the front side of the filter and turned th engine over and got no fuel. Then I disconnected the entire fuel filter, it was clear, turned the engine over still no gas. Is this probably the fuel pump and what does it take to change it?

Re: Fuel Pump
Check the (easy stuff first) fuel pump relay located under the hood on the passenger side. Have someone turn the key while someone else checks the relay for activation. If you sense activation your pump is bad, which is a common problem for this vehicle. If no relay activation check for missing 12v. Pump replacement requires lifting the van , removing the tank, replacing pump and filter. Some people have had problems with the bolts that hold the tank straps. Overall its fairly simple.

Re: Fuel Pump
Depending on your tanks fuel level you might need to remove and store fuel. This helps on the tank weight and handling.

Re: Re: Fuel Pump
Thanks for the info. I have two modules identical in shape upper passenger side. When I turned the key on I felt a click in the module.

Re: Re: Fuel Pump
In reference to the relays let me clarify. I only felt one relay click.

Re: Fuel Pump
You can follow the wires from the pump and connect 12 volts to it so see if it works. If it does work, then there is a problem with a fuse or maybe the crankshaft position sensor. In the newer models, the fuel pump, the pump won't work if the ecm fuse is burnt, the cps is not working or the fuel pump relay is not working.
