Turn Signals

Just need some help with a turn signal problem my father-in-law and I ran into! We just finished getting the 79 CJ painted and now the turnsignals will work when the lights are turned off, but not when the lights are turned on! Now... we cant remember wether or not the turn signal lights are on at all times when the lights are on and then turn off when the signal is put on, or if they are always off and only come on when you put the signal on! If you guys could help us out in any way at all... please do!!! We wanna get thigs thing running ASAP!!!

Re: Turn Signals

My first suggestion is to look for a short in the tail light socket, bulb or wire that allows both the turn/stop and the tail light filaments to come on at the same time.
