I love torque!
got my B20 running in my CX hatch with no CEL at all, it feels good, just hope I dont go out and total this one tomorrow.
I got the timing retarded all the way cuz I have only a bit left of the 87 octane crap in the tank til I fill her up with 92 tomorrow.(11:1 cr) its too loud for me to stomp on it also because all I got is straight pipe through a 24" smittypack that was my resonator on my integras exhaust, had to cut the muffler off to get it up over the rear susp. arm and havent welded it back on. (that played with my mind there, I got my integra sedans exhaust setup under my civic hatchback!) but even down around 1500-2k give it a little gas and it starts going better than most every honda ive driven. I dont know what it is, maybe the timing is so far off it isnt running smooth enough to run good at low speeds but when it hits 3k the engine smooths out so nice and feels like it gains so much power right there, took it to 3500 and now i cant wait til I can take it to 6500. I was wondering what I should do to fix my fuel line problem though, a while back my hose clamp on my rigged intake wore through the hard line to the fuel filter. si I cut a section out and replaced it with rubber hose and a coupel hose clamps, but eventually the hose got so brittle and didnt keep its seal and I ended up losing lots of gas. I fixed it like that again and it is sealed for now but I know it will start to leak again later on, if I got a hose that was actually for fuel line, do you think it would keep its pliability and keep its seal?

Re: I love torque!
just get a proper size fuel line from any auto store and then clamp them off tightly. or just get the hardline replaced....sounds like more trouble than its worth!

Re: I love torque!
I followed the hardline a ways and I wouldnt wanna replace that, looks like it weaves in and out oftoo many other hard lines and such. fuel line it is.

I would have to agree torque in honda's is very nice b/c its hard to get out of a honda. My accord hardly any when it was stock. But in my opinion the torque king is the h23 non-vtec that's in my del sol now on that nothing but torque over power. Love it.

I dont know for sure but I think they are only like 100 or so pounds more than a b series, and the H's cant be too far off from each other in weight.
oh, also, I just filld it up with the 92 octane so I advanced the timing back to normal, and I put in the P75(had forgotten to swap for the stock P06 until today) and man it has a ton of it now, I can cruise up hills in 4th at 1500 where I used to have to either keep it revved pretty good to use fourth, or about the middle of 3rd gear to keep a steady pace.

Torque and honda in the same sentence??
Just sounds funny to me...what do you mean by torque maybe 175 ft/lbs instead of 111 ft/lbs...and at what RPM 3-4k+??....If you want Torque you need a V8 or a Turbo...Mild 350', can make over 200 ft/lbs by 1.5K and 380 or so at 3.5k....honda's are more for high end HP.

no way I got even 175 ft lbs. stock is I think 133 or so and at somewhere around 3K I think. and all I did was up the cr from 8.8:1 to 11:1 and LS teg cams
but this is whats funny to me, show me some chevy I can go out and buy with a 350 that has a curb weight of 2100 lbs, and one that I can get for a few thousand dollars. with my car, and engine and mods I only got 3700 or so in it.

Heh..
I'm not dissin your car or anything...I was just sayin torque and honda don't really go together they are infamous for no torque. I am not sayin it's a bad car or anything. 133 lbs. of torque isn't sh1t though. I think my 5.0 mustang makes that just off idle, probably 1-1.1K if not right at idle. I think hondas are good for a reliable daily driver that you can make fast. But still I think fox body 5.0's are the best bang for your buck in performance and with a turbo kit you can have a 1,000hp street car.literally. I've been thinking about selling the 5.0 and my truck though and getting a 96-98 EX 5-speed and swaping in a b16 or a b18 vtec...and eventually a turbo. Or if i could find one just a 99-00 SI. It would be nice to drive one car year round.

I found out it is actually 133 ft/lbs at 4300, not as low as I thought, but it has way more down low than the other B series.
you can pick up a civic SI in the cali/oregon area for aroun 7-8k if you look around a while, I see a few now and then, just cant affo them yet, but I do like them alot. I do think I got a B16 head/ecu/harness lined up though so I might be adding a good deal of top end punch to my car soon as well. I am gonna wait a while, take it up to redline and if I want more than its got Im gonna swap the VTEC head on. only thing that worries me is I heard that when I put on the B16 head it will up the compression a few more points and its already high, so I am gonna have to find a thick aftermarket headgasket somewhere. if the swap doesnt go through a wet kit will be added later for sure though.

Re: I love torque!
first of all, why is your comp 11:1? stock b20 is not that high, did i miss something? and about your fuel line problem. get steel braided fuel hose and replace the WHOLE hard line, not just a section. its almost impossible to seal off permanently with the way youre trying to do it. and assuming you do throw on a b16 head it will not raise compression very much because the b16 head actually has a pretty high dome.

Re: I love torque!
I was told by a shop it would jump between .3-.3:1
and it is 11:1 (mentioned it in first post even) because I got JE pistons in it. I do got a blockgaurd to try and hold things together a bit. and it doesnt seem to be running hot with it either. at least temp guage doesnt say so but. and the fuel line problem was th O.D. of the hard line is 1/4, I had 3/8 I.D. fuel line on it trying to clamp it down cuz the right size was not in stock at the time, and forgot about it til I took it off to see what was up, sop I went and bought some 3/16 I.D. stuff and jammed it on there and hose clamped it and it works. no leakes, and I dont even have the clamps that tight cuz they stripped before I could really tighten them, Im gonna get the dual wire type that are all over my nissan but cant fiond em around here, probably going to nissan to get them. it is sealed now but better safe than sorry later on.

I wish I could have gone farther but didnt have enough money, plus I have always heard hondas cranks are excellent so I didnt worry about that, and I read of a LSVTEC buildup pumping out 231 WHP with stock LS rods, and my rods are the same. and I know I aint anywhere close to 231 at the crank even let alone the wheels.

Yeah...
I live in NY though. the cheapest '99-00 Si's around here are still 12.5k-13.5k. That's why I was thinking of getting an older EX becuase it'd be cheaper up front and then swapping later. What would a 96-98 EX run If I swapped in a b16 and just Intake, headers, exhuast? and what about a b18 vtec?...I wish I could afford a honda for a daily driven fast street car AND keep my mustang and build into into a twin turbo beast to occasionally drive on the street/track. But the only place that'd ever happens in a dream...
