alrighty, easy thing to do start any car off as a drifter. remove driving aids (tsc and asm). then you gotta do the trial and error thing find the best set up for the car you want.

i have my sw20(mr-2 g-limited) set to
spring rate 9.4 front and 10.2 rear
then the rear sway bar set to 6 front stays the same.
set the brakes so the rear are higher(allows for better breaking drift)
tight gears around
leave the limited slip
no driving aids

this makes a slide happy car. be warned you don't need to brake as hard. but you will spin alot till you get the hang of it.

first rule i would say on this forum is dont ask for setups for drifting, make your own, expeirment with the setups, and find one that works for you, so far i have seen a bunch of people on this forum tell people that want to start drifting a bunch of different setups, so just make your own, according to your skill, thats how i did it, and i drift great now.

Yeah same here, I tried the whole "tried and true" AE86 setup, and could not hold onto the thing worth anything. Then I just on a whim decided to do an RX8 drift car, and on my first time I set it up perfect for my style. Drift in/power out kinda driving. Its easy to control, and if your careful with it, it can be driven like any other car, albeit it a bit more tail-happy. You really gotta find a platform your comfortable with and just kinda play with it.

if u want a good drifting car try the treuno sprinter in Toyota get max hp in it and change the stuff around and u will be GOLDEN

It took my friend and I an hour to set up an AE86 for drifting. Took me 5 minutes to setup my RX-8, it makes all of its power in the perfect place for drifting. Its still NA, at about 400hp, its the perfect drift car, well for me at least.

this game is cool bc it takes tons of practice skills and tuning to actually drift right. i recently started playing again, ive had the game 2 yrs, so i been screwing around with drift cars. just use common sense, and test and tune till u get it right. one peice of advice i can give is definintly tune the lsd and torque distribution and crap like that, it really helps.
and max power isnt always the best. a lot of my good drift only cars in there dont have maxed out power.
and i hope to god i dont have to remind anyone u need to drive manual...

well for me i've been using a Skyline V-spec II (R32) with the HP at 402 and stock suspension, super soft tires and a fully deckt out tranny, with no Limited Slip Dif. for the AE86, i have no clue what the settings are exactly, but it has 384 HP and it actually handels really well, the only way to get it to drift is to mash the brakes and turn really hard, then it kinda just stays at that angle. i think i might change some of the settings on my Skyline and see what it does. i think giving it less body roll would help some, but Trial Mountian is so fun when i hit that hard left u-turn. i'm in 4th gear, slam on the brakes, shift to second and gun it, and perform a very smooth drift. but, i think the rear end could use a bit more tourqe so i'm gonna put in a VDC i think it is, to adjust the front and rear tourqe percentage thingy

/\ wut you just explained with what you do with your trueno sounds more like a powerslide, and btw all my cars are fully tuned out, nomatter what drift car it is, its just how i do things, some cars can get a little tricky when fully tuned though, like the 427

ya, well i should actually change that statment, i haven't driven my AE86 in a while, but after yesterday i realized i could get it to slide without touching the brakes. it was very mild before, (i have 2 AE86's) but the good one, is actually very tricky to drive. if your not careful, making the simplest turn can lead to a spinout. my R34, now has 500 hp and slicker tires, and more camber, so it's a lot easier to drift with, but i'm getting myself in trouble on that hard left after the little hill on Trial Mountian. since all the weight is shifted forward, the car slides easily and if i don't control the throttle just right it gets to the point of no return and spins. what would really help is the GT-Force steering wheel and pedals, cause using the buttons really sucks
