Red face Help with Protege 2000 Right Sideview Mirror

Tried to get into a turn lane and got to close to a truck and struck my R sideview mirror on my Protege 2000. The unit was left hanging by the power cable. Was able find the three nuts on the inside of the door to remove it and expected to see some place to disconnect the power cable, but can see nothing. Is the "disconnect" inside the unit--I can see places where it looks like can be opened and tried prying with no effect? Or is it somewhere down in the car door where the cable disappears. Is it some type of "snap click" connector? Would also like to know if anyone knows of the reputation of the business called Car Mirror which shows a replacement mirror for $51.95. Are they to be trusted? I have a friend who works as a cashier at a non-Maza dealer and says he can get one for $109 after his discount. Seems a little steep to me.
Would appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Frank

the connector is inside under the dor panel you would need to remove the panel and the connection is a plastic snap plug.
