need some good 12's

im starting to plan my next system and im thinking about 2 12's. at least 400W each preferrably 600-1000. Numbers dont tell the whole story so... i just need some good opinions. considering elemental designs, audiobahn, eclipse, boston, maybe alpine but type R's dont impress me very much and X are too expensive, and possibly momo and infinity.

take audiobahn out of there, i'd say either elemental designs or boston acoustics...

check out adire audio's brahma and resonant engineering's xxx....I think those are the best two in that price range.

Re: need some good 12's

ah your up in the good stuff there

Adire Brahma
RE XXX
eD Ov2 (not out yet though, so there are no opinions or bases for comparison)
IDMAX

I would stick to any of those and be done with it, don't screw around with the other stuff you listed (except for maybe the eclipse titaniums)

Re: need some good 12's

wait, scratch the XXX, it's too inefficient to work well on that amount of power. It would like closer to 1500 rms for it to shine, the brahma or idmax on the other hand would work much better on the power you are going to have available.

Re: need some good 12's

keep audiobahn as an option..if they suck so bad why does Xzibit have 4 Audiobahn 12's in his H2?
I have 2 and can personally say that other than 4 12's in my friends truck, its the loudest car I've been in. Check the upper end of audiobahns gear tho..alot of people get the low end stuff and base their opinions off that and then it spreads that audiobahn isn't so good. But to each there own.

i definetly think audiobahn is a great brand. however, Ive narrowed my choices down to either Eclipse or Boston Acoustics. Bostons ProSeries 12.5 is an awesome performer. 1200W RMS for only $300 a peice? sounds like a bargain to me. ill probably get two of them....they hit extremely hard.

Re: need some good 12's

JBL 1200.1 has 1200w RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms.. $300.
Thats what I have powering 2 Audiobahn 12's and I can say that it has never let me down...I have another 1200.1 in my house but haven't come to the decision to power both Audiobahns off seperate amps..doesn't really need it.

because xzibit is a dumbass when it comes to car audio, and thats what audiobahn depends on, people who go for looks and would make their desiscion based on what a gay rapper has in his car, its apparent that you have no desire for your car to sound good, just to get loud, and the reason it does get loud is because you have a good amp, but if you would have bought an audiobahn amp, it would have broken down within the first year you had it, and it would be overrated as where the jbl is far underrated

Re: need some good 12's

they have good sq if you can manage the freq.level and input on your amp..if not..then they might sound crappy when not adjusted (for those who get them installed professionally and have no idea about the nobs on your amp, then yeah they might just sound boomy and loud), my car sounds good enough.
