High/Low engine mount(s)...worth the beans?

Saw em over at RK Sport. The high was over 100 bucks and the low was like 50. Are they worth it? What exactly do they accomplish.

Thanks

Re: High/Low engine mount(s)...worth the beans?

I have loose engine mounts, my mechanic noticed it when he was under the hood and I shifted. My whole freakin' engine moved, which isn't a good sign. I'm far from a pro with car issues but I can tell you that replacing my mounts will keep my engine from falling out.....I think the price range is normal, I was quoted the same...just about for the parts.

it will give some noticeable power gains, put about 5 more HP to the wheels, but it doesnt create more power at the crank. But for that you must sacrifice comfort, the car is gonna vibrant alot once you put those in, the dash and everything. In my opinion its not worth it unless its a drag car.

i took off my rubber engine mounts. the engine freely moves back and forth, and when your shooting off the line, it adds a lot more momentum. cars arent all about HP - simple physics can really help.
but hell, what do i know? im only 17.......

I hope to god you are kidding!

stiffer mounts = less engine movement which means more power able to be generated to the wheels.
