95 LHS Keyless Remote
I just purchased a 95 LHS but there were no remote transmitters with it. I have checked the VIN with the dealer and it does have remote entry. Can anyone tell me if one of the universal remotes will work with this car? Or, a model number I need to buy (not from the dealer!--$95 is a little heavy).
Thanks for your help, Chuck M. Seattle WA |

I have a 95 that came with no remote as well. I bought one from eBay ( I have the URL for the seller, they are certified) if you need this info. Anyway, then when you get the remote, you need to setup the car to access for learning. The directions are in the archives on how to do this. I paid 26 bucks for the remote and shipping. factory one. Let me know.

Toban- Thanks for the response. I went to eBay but could not find the remote only. Probably cockpit error, but if you would send me the URL I'd be most appreciative. Regards, Chuck Meyer |

Look through the listings, he usually has several of them at any given time. Enjoy... Clark |

I had the same thing happen to me, and I got three remotes off of eBay for like $20. If you do that, and need programming, e-mail me, and I can send you the detailed picture instructions. (programming is easy, and not worth $35 per remote.)

Re: 95 LHS Keyless Remote
Gas_maniac - I recently got a 97 LHS without remotes, would your detailed instructions work for the 97? I really don't want to pay someone the $35 to do something that only takes a few minutes.
A friend is trying to come up with a remote for me, but not sure how to tell if it will work with the car - any suggestions? Thank you! [email protected] |

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, please email me your scans and thank you very much! Hopefully it'll work - what year are the instructions for?
Thanks again~ [email protected] |

Not sure if you've gotten a chance to send that email or not, but I don't have it, even checked the bulk mail folder. Mind giving it another try?
Thanks~ [email protected] |

Re: 95 LHS Keyless Remote
You can get replacement Remotes at AutoZone Auto Parts stores, they are brand new and just like the factory originals and cost about $50 which are a real good deal considering what the Dealers want for them. There is also a website that sells them on line called "keylessride.com" that sells them for about the same price plus shipping. Sure you can get them on eBay every once in a while but they are used, these are new items which IMO is a better deal because if it doesn't work you can get a replacement.

Re: 95 LHS Keyless Remote
Toban - thank you for the instructions in my email - very much appreciated!
AWP - thank you for the info on where I can pick up a remote - didn't even think about Auto Zone having them. Take care! |

Re: 95 LHS Keyless Remote
Thank you to everyone who tried to help out. I purchased a remote through Ebay and received programming instructions with the remote - just like the ones you all have sent me. Unfortunately, I still ended up paying $35 to have a dealership program it for me - seems some of the 97 LHS's don't always have the required pins needed for progamming - so a computer was required for programming.
Hopefully the directions in this thread will help out others - good luck! |
