Where is coolant temp sensor 95?
Where is this puppy at? From what I hear, a faulty coolant temperature sensor in C-68 GM AC system will stop the compressor from working. Does the 95 have a C-68? I mean all other things on this car are electronically controlled. Someone help please,
Thanks TRU |

If you're referring to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor it is located on the driver's side of the engine between EGR and the rear valve cover (nearest the firewall). It has a two-lead connector one yellow and one black. My engine is still hot from the commute home and it's getting dark so I couldn't "climb in" or see to validate it's location for you.
I'm confused, you also mention the A/C and C-68. There is a Diagnostic Trouble Code DTC-68 but this pertains to the Cruise Control. So, I'm confused. Can you elaborate??? Last edited by ugsrich; 07-07-2004 at 11:33 PM. |

Re: Where is coolant temp sensor 95?
GM has several types of Air Conditioning Systems. I wanted to know if the Aurora had an electronically controlled system in which the ECT plays a role in kicking the compressor on and off. C-68 is simply a GM Air conditioning type that I thought the Aurora may be part of.
My SES shows a code P0117 and from this code my ECT may be faulty. If so, my Air Conditioning compressor may not be working if its electronically controlled such the C-68. Sorry for the confusion. TRU |

Aurora does have the sophisticated A/C system. PCM will engage the A/C clutch anytime the A/C is requested unless any of the following conditions are met:
High Coolant Temp Low Battery Voltage Low Evaporator Pressure High Engine RPM High A/C System Pressure Low A/C System Pressure FSM also says PCM will not activate the A/C clutch with a stored DTC. Just curious, anybody out there have cold air with a lighted SES??

Re: Where is coolant temp sensor 95?
I used to have it running all the time when I had my input speed sensor trouble with my tranny. As a matter of fact when they fixed it they also told me a code in the computer, but not making the SES light come on, was that I had low refrigerant levels (maybe pressure, I honestly don't know). I can't tell you which code that was, but to sum it all up, my a/c worked fine through it all. I just had the system recharged after dropping my other 2 weeks o' paycheck on the tranny and went on my merry way.
