2000 camry transmission drain plug tool

I have a 2000 camry and want to drain the transmission fluid. The drain plug is star shaped. I called the dealer, and they said to get an x range allen wrench type tool at Sears, but they couldn't tell me what size. Does anyone know what I need? Thanks

Re: 2000 camry transmission drain plug tool

mibye,

On my 94 and 98 Camry it is simply a 10MM allen wrench. If it is really "star" shaped, that is called Torx drive but I am not sure what the size is. Those are usually listed as "T" something. You may try calling Toyota corporate and follow the promps to customer service and ask them. Their number is 1-800-331-4331.

Thanks Mike,

I took another look and you're right, it's a 10mm allen. I got one today and drained the fluid. Thanks again
