Prelude Cluster

I know I know, I've been rather annoying about the cluster issues, but this could possibly be the last time!

All that I need to know is if I can [with wiring modifications, of course] fit either a 1995 or 1987 Prelude Cluster in my 1991 Civic LX. And has anyone come across a "how-to" or "DIY" for either?

Please help, I could get my hands on either for pretty cheap, but the catch is I have to do it tonight! Stupid rents! Help!

Amit

1987 Prelude Cluster

1995 Prelude Cluster, I prefer this one. Its simple and allows me to put in the fuel and temp gauges elsewhere on the dash.

Help Any?

Re: Prelude Cluster

you can do an 87 prelude cluster REALLY easy, all you have to do is rewire it.....BUT unless you have a harness cut from the lude it will be impossable, but you in luck.....i have the cluster from an 85 2.0Si lude WITH the harness pieces you will need, all you gotta do is cut your stock harness and re-wire color to color, all the colors in the 80's were the same thing, in 92 most hondas were different, i tried swapping a newer lude cluster into my dual carb lude and failed horribly, but the civic hatchback Si cluster i had in there for a while was very easy.

i will sell you my cluster with the harness cuts for 35.00 or best offer.
looks the same as the one you have in the picture, but i will get pics for you if your interested, pm me

The offer is enticing however, I think I like the 95 Cluster a little more. Just so you know, some company on E-bay is selling a 1987 Prelude Cluster for under $15. Sorry I'm not buying, but good luck in selling it, and if I find anyone that needs it I'll send em packing over to ya.

Re: Prelude Cluster

Dont cut your wires.... All you have to do is get a service manual or a pinout from a 95 prelude, and rearrange the cluster according to the 4th gen lx. DOesnt sound too hard you just got to make room in the cluster area for it to fit.

Re: Prelude Cluster

this chick put a 92-96 Prelude cluster into her CRX. Of course she did a little more mods, but she put one in. More pics of her car can be found @ http://www.teameci.com/version2/memb...l.php?MemID=36

Wowza!!!! That thing is awesome! I may do something like that with my sunroof but I still want to keep the open hole plexiglass to see out of. Oh yeah, if I had that kind of dough to blow I'd probably put it toward a downpayment on a house... hahahaha...

Dude, sorry that sux. Try a boneyard... BTW, the 95 lude guages are tight but the speedo goes up to 180. I'd like to see a 4g that could do that... haha

Boneyards...gotta find one round here. Well I got a stock engine, so there is no way in hell thats gonna happen, but at least non-techies will think it can ...and maybe later on i can do a mega engine swap. hell yeah. major.

Re: Prelude Cluster

the only problem with taking the pins out is that the connectors are completely different, not do-able w/o theharness leads.

Ok, so I've totally made up my mind, I want that 1995 Cluster...I've been searching and searching for a harness and cluster together, calling up all the damn junkyards, emailing ones out of state, looking at wholesale places online...someone HAS to have them at a decent price! OMG...this is making me go insane.
