what' wrong with this picture?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3869807.stm

It may just be me but shouldn't the president be choosen by is platform. not by how many bumper stickers he can afford to print. By mid-June this year President George Bush had raised about $216m and 145m for kerry. there are only two real choices. they don't need to spend that much to advertise that they are running. who at this point doesn't know who's running for office.

what do the contributers want in exchange for there money?

Re: what' wrong with this picture?

Most people who vote are stupid. If they see the same name over and over, they are bound to vote for that person even if they know nothing about them besides the fact that they rant about how good they are and how you should vote for them.

It has been proven to work... thats why they spend so much on advertizing.

I think I heard earlier today, Kerry has spent more on his campaign than any other democrat in history. Didn't realize he was spending that kind of money.

I think that you'll find Bush has done exactly the same.

Ah -- I love it. Welcome to 21st century American democracy! Keep getting deeper into the richest people's pockets, and your opponent must do the same!

At the end, no matter who wins the election, the very wealthiest own their asses -- and want their investment to pay off. Refreshing.

Yeah, seems like everything Bush does is an 'accident'. I wish someone would assasinate our BAD presidents...

what's the point the pres. is only the figure head of the party. only a fool would think you could solve this problem by assasination. things only would get worse. it only fuels the "your not safe" angle they use to get the support of the people.

And the past assassinations DIDNT fuel fear? When they told George Bush that the planes hit the twin towers, he didn't do anything. He wasn't afraid he would get killed. Either hes retarded or he knew he was safe and that no one was trying to kill him. Realizing his mistake, he flew around the country like some one gived a shit?

I heard bush's military records recently 'accidently' got destroyed.

I would like to bring up the fact that bush created MORE fear in people being alive then if he was capacitated. If he was killed, the nation would probably thank the person who did it. Infact, I would be supprised if someone didn't put a bounty on his head if he gets re-elected..
