Installing aftermarket Stereo....electrical problems

Ok I am kind of new to installing radios and stuff and have had little experience. I have a pioneer deck and 96 Galant ES. I successfully removed the Stock Stereo. Now I have to connect the Pioneer harness to the wires. Since i didnt feel like buying a connector that extends the wires from the car (ive seen a few online) i decided to just clip the wires from the connector. Now before that i tried figuring out what does what.....and successfully did that.....12v ACC, 12v Batt, front and rear left and right speakers, antenna relay (for it to go up and down), the antenna, and secondary antenna, and the illumination wires. Now when i clipped them my dim's no longer work...so nothing lights up on the dash. then when i was taping off the exposed wires i accidentally touched 2 or 3 together to a piece of metal in the car and my dome lights went out. So now my dome lights or my keyless entry remote no longer work. If anyone can tell me, what do i have to do with the dimmer wires to get that working again, and which fuses do i have to replace to make my dome light and keyless entry work again?????? Also the pioneer harness has a ground wire.....and i noticed that the grey secondary antenna wire acted as a ground ( i think ) so how do i ground the pionner harness wire????

Did you ever sort this out?
I have the same problem with my dash illumination, and all my attempts to solve it have failed.
Any information very welcome. Thanks
