Guys, I Need your help.. 98 jetta: I put the car in reverse and the reverse lights don't turn on, I checked the bulbs and replaced them with new ones, I checked the fuse #14 and its good.. Don't have a clue what it could be.. all the other lights work fine even the license plate lights..

Re: Help reverse lights don't turn on
If you have the manual tranny, then you may have the same problem I had to fix...
The switch for the reverse lights is on the top of the transmission in the engine bay. It has a small connector and wiring harness. The wires are pretty thin and with the heat in there they become brittle and easily broken. Look on top of the tranny housing and see if you can locate this connector. It's a pretty easy fix. I got a new harness with pigtails and spliced it, if I remember right. |
