My Computer Is Running Realy Slow And I Dont Know Why I Have Done All The Defragment And All The Updates That Needed To Be Done But The Computer Just Is To Slow
If There Is Anyone That Can Help Me Please Let Me Know How To Fix It

go to www.download.com, download 2 programs... one is called ad-aware and the other is "spybot search and destroy". Install both, update and run them one at a time. They will remove spyware which is probably killing your system...

Also go to http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger
Download and run the stinger application, it's from mcafee virusscan and is designed to seek and destroy specific virii...

i dont know much about the computers it has 28.32 free GB DO I REALY NEED TO BUY MORE RAM >

Here's a way you can take a quick look and see if something is running in the background that should'nt be (make sure you've closed all programs first):

Hit ctrl+alt+del all at the same time. That will bring up some called the Windows Task Manager. If you're using XP, hit the Performance Tab to look at the CPU Usage history. If you're not doing anything, your CPU usage should be running at about 1-2%. Also, you can see how much RAM you have under Physical Memory(not to be confused with your hard drive space, altho little hard drive space will also slow your comp down). Make a note of how mych Physical Memory you have and how much of that is available, and let us know the results.

Also, you might check your Start Up folder by going to Start->All Programs->Startup. You might have gotten alot of stuff in there that doesn't need to be installed. You can right click and delete any files you don't want.

Lastly go to your Control Panel (Start-> Control Panel) and choose the Add/Remove option to see what's installed. You might find some old programs you don't use any more that didn't uninstall correctly.

What OS (Operating System [version of windows]) Are you running? Right click "My Computer" and go down to "Properties"....Now for Win 98/Me, go to the "Performance" tab and it will show you how many MB of RAM you have....for Win 2000/XP, usually you would have "System Resources" in the "General" tab

The other good program from download.com is called FreeRAM XP Pro. Once installed, right click on it and Try to free 100% of RAM once every half hour. Will make a big difference. Also make sure you have at least 10% of your hard drive free for swap files, preferably more.

ok i just check it says my cpu usage is 100% but goes down to 66% it goe up and down that was with no programs running how do I get rid of the background programs oh yea it says the PF usage is 150mb

Works under 98 and therefor ME.
