intake piping

i've been thinking about replacing the factory intake snorckle with a hard metal bigger intake piping. i already did the dump tube hack, just still want more and better throttle response. problem is... i don't feel like spending 150 on a hard injen pipe. i've looked around MachV and dsmparts, dsmtuners, not sure what exactly to get. will a 3" piping fit perfect on my stock setup T-25 and factory MAS fitting? or should i get a 2.5, or 2 1/4. what size is the factory intake snorckle. i just need a cheap way to do this. bettter if i can get it done under $80.

Re: intake piping

i've seen that link before, i'd much rather prefer to buy an already made pipe, much more durable and reliable that way. what do you guys think about this one.http://linux.forcedperformance.net/m...ode=DSM-Intake

what kind of coupler do i need to fit on my stock T-25 setup.

T25 is 2 inches. 2gMAS is around 4 inches, but oval. Get a dejon with recirc tube.

Re: intake piping

i am looking at the dejon intake tube that's $34 on their site. but it's only 2-1/4" tube tho. don't i want a bigger diameter tube like a 3"?

like i already mentioned, i already cleared up the space in my stock tube by doing the dump tube hack. will changing to this 2-1/4" tube make a differeice? joe you said the mas is 4" and T-25 is 2", then how big is the stock tubing. greater or smaller than 2-1/4"?

Re: intake piping

about 2'', a lot less with the dump tube... pop your hood, it's small as hell.

Re: intake piping

so i am guessing those 4" pipe i posted won't work then. even with its provided 4" to 3" coupler hookup.

i guess dejon it is then. another thing, what do you guys do with the 3 vacume lines pluged in to the intake. do you just leave it unpluged? i guess i can get a breather filter for the valve breather line but what about the other two. leaving the two openly unpluged might possibly let dust or bugs inside.

Re: intake piping

For what its worth, the POSr was durable and reliable enough for 430 whp, and 4 years of POSr abuse. I still have it, nothing wrong with it. Except it feelings are hurt from being called a pussy little non-reliable intake

Re: intake piping

If you polish a dull pipe it gets shiny! I've seen some valve covers that if you go to work on them long enough with some power sanders and such they get chrome-like. I saw this intake pipe on DSMtuner classifieds if you're interested...

http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds...1&cat=7&page=1

I offered him $50 shipped ...don't think he'll be too happy about that, but you never know!

Re: intake piping

He's the real slim shady, all the other slim shadys are just imitating

Even though that guy may have sounded a bit shady, Dejon Tool as a company is not. I've never heard of any bad problems regarding them, so I think you can just brush that guy off as a goof that Dejon hired
