2003 Malibu A/C Control Issue

When I select the recirculate function on my A/C it switches back to outside air. Any ideas? Thanks.

Today, I had my a/c control head replaced to solve this problem. I had a 1998 Malibu that did the same thing. Hopefully, it is now good as new.

As discussed in several other threads related to this topic, the "switching" from recirc back to outside air is the control head. It's a design defect. Kind of surprised that even the '03s are affected.

Once fixed, it'll likely happen again and again. No idea why they can't fix it once and be done with it, but apparently they can't.

Well, even the '04 has that problem. Mine does that. I select the recirculating setting and all of the sudden the outside air setting is magically selected. ????
I'll ask the mechanic the next time it needs service. It only has 1300 miles.

I had this problem with my '02, told the dealer and they did a diagnostics check, and the A/C control unit (the actual face place and knobs and such) was bad. They replaced it, and it's never done it since.

Mine does it also, but I just push the recirc button again and it usually stays. It's not a big problem to me.
