Thumbs down I'm back... and the 'Lady is acting funny...

Hey GuyZ!
Just got back! Had a hell of a time! Drunk off my ass! And I won $241 on a slot-machine! Got back and drove my Zed-lady around and she is acting bitchy!

Everytime I hit my brakes... this red 'LIGHTS' light comes up on the right hand side of the HUD. I thought maybe since I have not yet chnged my worn out brakes this light would come on... but I noticed that when I have my headlights on... they will flicker (along with all in dash lights... you would miss it if you were not looking for it! It flickers that fast!) for a second when I hit my brakes! What is going on???

Also my alarm has been periodically messing up on me! It will not even unlock the doors when I disarm her... could this be some kinda electrical prob with my Z?

i would check all the fuses for starters. most likely it is something electrical. glad to hear you had fun on vacation.

Your car is possessed. Call your local religious establishment (provided you haven't been excommunicated....long story, don't ask) and have it exorcised.

yeah, i would check all the fuses, and if that turns out to be nothing, get your alternator checked out, and while your at it, check all connectors you can see. It sounds like you have a current drain on the battery, with the headlights flashing and the alarm and brake lights acting up.

Re: I'm back... and the 'Lady is acting funny...

i didn't think of the alternator when i first posted. that could also be it. my z has a problem with the alternator, it has been replaced 3 times in the past 7k miles. i don't know if it is like that for all z's, abut it is for mine.

Re: I'm back... and the 'Lady is acting funny...

Weird.... 'cus I just had my Alt replaced not too long ago!

Update: I was driving to work this morning and saw another Z and I Flashed (with my brights) and waved to him... but when I did this my Z cars RPM's went wild! WTF? This is very reminiscent of the time my Alt. went out... but why would my Alt. be going out so soon? There has to be another problem!

FYI: My alarm was/is acting really weird also... maybe this has something to do with it? Before I went on vacation I was at the movies (Spider Man 2... you gotta see it) and when I came back I disarmed the car... for some reason it did not unlock and When I went to open the door the alarm went off! It would not shut off and I finally just manually unlocked the doors and hit the button again and it stopped! A day or so later I disarmed the car again... it chirpped as if it was unlocked/disarmed but the doors did not unlock! I tried starting the car and the alarm went off. This happend several times and I was getting frustrated and was just pushing buttons on my alarm key-pad and it finally stopped and started up! Now my alarm does not unlock the doors and I have to open them manually... and when I arm the alarm it chirps to confirm (like normal) but a few seconds after it will chirp again after! Could there be some kind of short or crossed wires? Why would it act up now out of the blue? I know that the radio that was installed crackled a whole bunch until I removed it too. Any ideas guys...

Re: I'm back... and the 'Lady is acting funny...

i have no clue why my alternator has gone out 3 times in 7k miles, there is many reasons, the belt being too tight, oil is dripping on the alternator, an electrical connection is touching the body of the car making the electiricity usage spike and causing the alt. to burn out. the last one being the hardest to figure out because there is so damn many electrical connections on the vg.

I have the same problem on my '90 ZX, when I press the brake, the brake indicator on the right shows up every time, I thought that was normal? And I thought the battery on the remote was low, so I changed it, but now it sometimes won't unlock the doors, or lock the doors, vice versa.

i dont know but if i were u i might yank that alarm out of there. alarm drains battery, battery being low, extra stress on alternator, extra stress means lowers lifetime. but your car could also be possessed. u should have never left her sit there by herself all that time. she got lonely and now she is takin her anger out on u. good luck though.

Re: I'm back... and the 'Lady is acting funny...

there is a edit/delete button at the bottom of each of your posts so you don't have to make two posts in a row. i almost every thread that i have read you (k3) have two posts in a row. sorry, one of the little things that bother me. i am going to have to leave my baby for 6 days and i am not going to like it.
