Targa top rex....

I have seen a rex before somewhere on the net with a targa top. How hard would it be to do this?

question was just asked recently in the honda help forum...

i think itz pretty easy to do the top...just brace the body then cut across...then get like a del sol rubber sealer to put on the body and the part that was cut...but remember thata u have to cut away at the removable top some b/c of the rubber sealer...

then i think the hardest part is doing the doors

Crap I forgot about the doors. How would you make it latch to stay on?

the doors would be hard b/c u'd have to cut the tops of the doors and having done that, u wouldn'd want ur door to open with the top missing, so u'd have to cut the top of the door off and probably wed it to the body 1st...minus the mirror...and then go from there doing some fab work

Well see heres the situation. My old A6 has had it, I think I blew a piston ring. So I am building a Y8 for boost for my hatch.

After that is done I will build my a6 back for fuel econ. Then I was going to drop it in a del sol or CRX. I love the targa top (after riding with my friend). I think the CRX looks better than a sol though. Anyways thats why I want to do it.

yeah get the crx and do it...if u do it urself then u can charge other people like $500 to do theirs

hell yeah, if you figure that out charge mad bucks, thats some sweet shizat...but if you really love us, make a how to so we can all know how to mod it up!

I want one really bad now! . What if you cut off the part on the door, and welded and molded that to the roof piece, then it would be removable with the top. What ya think?
