Exclamation temp, speedo, electrical problem please help me

I have a 92 integra LS with 248,000 miles on it and recently my temp gauge and speedo including gas needle is acting weird. Sometimes when push the gas pedal the temp gauge will shoot to hot then when i get off the gas it goes back to normal, when it first happend i turn the car off. When i went to turn it back on a little cloud of smoke was coming from the gauge cluster, ever since I been getting power surges randomly without warining. My temp gauge will read hot but i know the engine isn't running hot the battery is fully charged and the alternator is fine. the only thing recently done to the car was a new starter which is working fine. All of grounds are good also if someone can help me out i would gladly appreciate it.

Re: temp, speedo, electrical problem please help me

My '94 Integra LS 5-speed has 117,000 miles on it and is in great shape. However, I am replacing exterior light bulbs seemingly one after another. It's simply due to age, and this may be your cause as well. I'd check all of your fuses (maybe just replace all of them), and all of your lights. A bad or corroded connection can generate power surges and on/off situations that could play funny games with your gauges. Good luck.
