SR-5 Big Fat Modifications (Engine)

Hi, i just found out about this forum and im pretty damn happy to see it. I got my car here and started to make some modifications. The thing is i need some help and ideas about what parts to install.

Im looking for suggestions on parts, brands, and cost in Canadian Dollars plz. Thanks in advance for cooperation and i sure will post pics of how it will look after its all done. My dead line would be in November 2004.

I'm not entirely familiar with your car. Can you post up more information on it? Engine code, FWD/AWD etc would be a big help.

The basics of making more power in a NA engine is more air in and more air out.

Start with a pod filter, then rig up a cold air induction from somewhere low (front guard or front bumper = ideal)

Then get a full exhaust (extractors, long secondary pipes, 2.25" piping) and a low resistance/high flow muffler.

You should have a noticeable difference in power by now (as well as noise and pollution )

After that you can think about different profile cams, shaved/aftermarket heads for more compression, enlarged throttle bodies and boring/stroking yuor engine for more capacity.
