careful when buying 3000s online.

i have been recently checking autotrader.com and cars.com in the search for a vr4 or even a supra and there is a few of these 2 type of cars for a very VERY low price. For example a 97 VR4 for $4000 when i contacted the guy i did some research and it seems that its just a punk trying to get money off people (stealing in other words). Also supras with turbos for 9000 down. So while i try to stay on subject, be careful when you are purchasing a vehicle from this 2 sites. I almost made a big mistake myself when i was about to buy a supra from some guy who posted a car at www.cars.com

Those bastards...

Definitely!!! Yahoo! is another site that sells cars super cheap (or so they say) and when you e-mail them, they tell you they're overseas or deaf or something and say that if you put "x" amount down into an account then they'll ship you the car. Jerks...

Good looking out GTO4Life.

Also on ebay there are alot of people trying to pass off low trim level cars as high trim lvl cars, for instance there was a car on ebay that was listed as a VR-4 but it was obviously a base, not a turbo engine, didn't have TCS, base wheels, and it didn't even have VR-4 painted on the back but it was selling for a VR-4 price!

Re: careful when buying 3000s online.

This is why you always want to find someone local to check out the car first.

I bought my 98 SL via ebay from a dealer in atlanta. Two atlanta 3si members went over and checked it out before I put my bid in.

No problems so far and I put 500 miles a week on my "daily driver".

I have a rule of thumb for ebay, unless you can verify the items integrity, I only bid on packaged items like a PS2.

Re: careful when buying 3000s online.

I found mine on autotrader, but went and drove 180miles and checked it out myself.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
