Headlight Wiring problem

Had some Piaa H4 headlights in my civic and the drivers side melted the harness. I went to honda and bought the harness ( just what the bulb plugs into ) than spliced the wires and connected. It still dosnt work. I checked the fuses and there fine. The harness had 3 red wires, two together and a single, i assumed the single was a ground and the others went to the stock wires comming from the alternator. Anyways does anybody know how to test wether its my wiring or the wire is fried with out having take it to an automotive electrition and getting raped.. I took my HIDs out for a fix it ticket

Re: Headlight Wiring problem

check relay. ya there is a way to test, the same way the mechanic will, with a multimeter. prob is it's kinda tough to learn unless you got someone helping you. i'm in damn near exact same situation as you. piaa's should not have melted anything. they should be 55W bulbs, no different than stock
