18's wont fit

i recently put volk te-37 18x7.5's on my 91' 240. the stock suspension assembly on the front driver side rubs the edge of my tire. its already made a small groove in it. i was looking for a way to fix this w/o having to drop a small fortune on coilovers. i looked into spacers but since its also rubbing on the top, that wont help me. any advice would be great, thanks.

Re: 18's wont fit

get smaller wheels, or get spacers and remove the wheel well lining out.

You probably got the wrong offset. You can deffinately fit them without rubbing, I've seen it. Coilovers will not fix this problem. Try spacers.

lining?

i cant just exchange them for smaller rims. and ive already had 17's on it. they look like crap. the lining isnt the problem. the part that the spring sits in is too wide. like a small dinner plate kind of wide. that is what rubs the tires.

coilovers wouldn't help. in fact they usually take up more space and make it harder to fit bigger tires.

Get a lower profile Tire like he said above

Re: 18's wont fit

225/40/18 is too big (as said above). get 35 or 30.

try rolling your fenders before you go out and buy new tires, its pretty easy to do, just need a little hammer, blow torch, and maybe a baseball bat.

why didn't you research before buying them? that's your fault.

Re: 18's wont fit

I know what you are talking about, the bottom seat for the coil springs. I know that thing is too big. I don't think you can chande that without buying new coil overs. the stock unit prevents large wheels. sorry, I don't see a way around it except for coilovers.
