Dodge font again

Hey guys,

Upon closer inspection of my customer's truck back gate, I have discovered that the font is not the 'Hemi' font that Dodge has been using. Attached is a badly drawn duplication of my customer's font. I really need to find out what font this is. Any help would be great. Thanks

Matthew

Re: Dodge font again

Try uploading it to your gallery, then you can take the URL from there and put in on here to show everyone. If that doesn't work, send it to me and I'll show it. [email protected]

Re: Dodge font again

I know what you're looking for. IT's a similar font, but the "G" tail is swept under. It looks almost like a lower case font and says "dodge truck" and not just "dodge" and goes across the whole tailgate.
Is this the one you're looking for? If so, I can get you a pix...

Let us know

Actually it is all uppercase. I know which one you're talking about with the underswept tail on the G. It's on the tailgate of a 1950 dodge pickup and it only shows DODGE, all caps, embossed, and no other lettering.

Hey Matthew, I got the email but there was no picture attached with it. I added you to my MSN Messenger list in case you have MSN and want to send it to me on there...

Re: Dodge font again

If you know what exact year truck has this embossing, let me know, I have pictures and promotional material back to about 1940 for dodge trucks.

Perhaps you're looking for the stepside western style block lettering used from the 50's thru to the early 80's, which is the lettering for the "Little dead express" (I hate the truck...). or the big round dodge emblem font from the early 60's I think that was called the balloon font?

Re: Dodge font again

it is exactly a 1950 Dodge pickup. It's got the rounded cab with the gullwing-like opening hood. The back was typically painted black. The lettering on the back was block type with rounded corners.

thanks
Matthew

Re: Dodge font again

I'll send you the pix I have tonight when I get home.
It's possible I have an ad for a '50 sweptline and stepside, but I'll have to look.
Since it's friday, it might not get emailed until sunday or monday.

Re: Dodge font again

I got your email and I saw the picture. That looks identical to the style of font on the tailgate of this 1952 Dodge truck that is parked at my neighbor's house. I'm still trying to find this font for a computer program...
