Angry New problem now

My car was acting up and I have been changing parts to fix it.It would overheat and start to run bad .So I changed TPS-LOW COOLANT SENSOR-COOLANT TEMP SENSOR-IAC-WATER PUMP- THERMOSTAT-FAN RELAYS.After I changed these parts the car ran better but would still run hot.So I took off the upper intake manifold and cleaned massive amounts of carbon out of it . I replaced the throttle body gasket and plenum gaskets and EGR gaskets .I reassembled it and holy shite the engine runs like its new again. It wont get hotter than 200 degrees .But now my tranny shifts hard and feels like its slipping.WTF did I do?It almost feels like the engine is revving to fast for the tranny ..HELP ...1995 pontiac grand prix 3.1 138k I dont have a detent cable to adjust so I think this is an electric trans...Thanks in advance for any info..

I have searched and read through most of the tranny related posts.I dissconnected the tcc and the tranny slips even more.Is this the problem?? Also I sprayed some carb cleaner in the vac module on the tranny and it seemed to clear up the harsh shifting a bit.I am thinking that because I cleaned out the plenum that maybe there is alot of carbon build up in the vac module. What do you guys think it could be.It started shifting hard after I cleaned out the upper plenum .There was an unbeileivable amount of carbon in there.I can't believe the car ran .But I got it all out. There is a vac line from the upper plenum to the vac module on the tranny. I will try to change out the vac module..But why would the trans slip more with the TCC unplugged??

I have spent the day trying to figure it out but the tranny still slips and bangs into gear.I also noticed that if you are in front of car looking in at engine in the back left near the coil packs there is a orange 2 prong plug connector with 2 wires. one white and one brown.I can't see where it plugs into.I am thinking that maybe while I was moving the wires around it pulled out of something.Would this be a knock sensor plug?I am totally sorry for these long posts but I am at a loss for words .Basicly my car started running rough and would overheat .And the fans would'nt come on without a/c on.I fixed that problem with new sensors and water pump. Then I pulled the upper intake plenum off to clean it out. There was carbon build up in the egr passage and it was caked in there bad. I cleaned it all out.I reassembled it all and the motor runs smooth and stronger than before. But now my tranny is slipping and banging into gears 1 and 2.Today I will try a new filter and new trans fluid to see if that helps..What could I have done wrong?? Is there a way to reset the trans comp?? There is no detent cable to adjust .I think the tranny is a 4t60e . 1995 pontiac grand prix se sedan 3.1 auto 138k.....Thanks ....................

Today I changed tranny filter and fluid. But it still shifts harshly.I am wondering if it could be motor mounts or tranny mounts.

Re: New problem now

Email me, I'll send you a copy of the service manual on CD. Then hit the trouble shooting section.

----------------------I found the problem...The coil wire loom was chaffed and when the car got hot it would ground out the coils. The wire was hitting the exhaust manifold.I cut and spliced a new wire and it runs mint now...Thanks for all the help..
