1973 VW super beetle questions

We bought the above for our daughter and are now trying to install a new cd/radio in...cannot for the life of us figure out how to get the old one (not original) out...or even access it..can't even figure out how to get the glove box out...taken out all screws..but is still not budging...its held in the back somehow....does anyone have a clue how to access this very small area apart from taking off the entire dash..help please...this is getting way harder than what it should be!!

Thanks!!

We actually got it!...put a little more muscle into it and got the glove box out (don't actually like the "when in doubt, force it" method..but in this case it worked!!..giving us easy access to the radio..and a great securing bracket that was in place ..the job is done...and it works great.!
