Trouble with new brake pads on 91 Galant!

Hi All,
I last posted several weeks ago with a limp mode prob in 92 transmission and a quit running in a 91, After hearing replys and some searchs of Archives it pointed to Trans control box and ignition control box. I found an outfit in Tampa that would test my boxs for free and if rebuild mine was 150.00. With one of his rebuilds was 300.00. Sent them both, both were bad, now both probs are solved. Was very satisfied and best of all...."Wifey has her car again""! If anyone needs address and phone no. can Email me (Didn't know if I could advertise or not)
Now my next prob was brakes on 91 GS. Am fixing for my Nephews first car so wanted to replace brakes. Upon trying to push brake plungers into their housings, the rear plungers seem to be 1/4" to 3/8" from being flush to housing. Matter of fact one is out more than the other. Is this normal for this car? They seemed to be bottomed in their housings but does not leave enough clearance for pads to clear rotors. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
