asking price for a '95 Camry LE V6
I'm considering selling my '95 Camry LE V6, black w/ gold emblems. After detailing and such with new emblems it will be in very good cosmetic condition (very few minor scratches and clean engine). It has 80,000 miles on it and would be in great running condition with an accident free history and a clean bill of health from a well reputed local mechanic. The only "black eye" this car has is the typical discolored and cracked vinyl dash (both moderate but not horrible). I saw a '96 Camry LE 4cyl (same package as mine) with 90,000 miles on carmax.com for $8,000. Considering the fact that I have 10K less miles and a V6, should I expect to be able to get as much or more for my Camry as carmax is asking for theirs? What should my realistic expectations be? I know mine is a year older but they also have a '95, 4cyl w/ 117K miles, same package for $7,600. Still not sure if I'm going to sell it but any opinions would be appriciated. Thanks!

Clint,
I'm surprised that your dash has discolored and cracked. I had a 92 and that never happened and I live in southern CA where we have sunshine all the time! It might be a good idea to log on to: www.edmunds.com www.kbb.com Look up your vehicle at both of these places and you will get a very good idea of your car's value. Best of luck. |

I think that is has something to do with the finish being black, causing the entire car (interior especially) to get extremely hot. I actually saw a Camry just like mine (black) in a parking lot the other day and it's dash was much worse than mine. I live in deep south Alabama where mosquitos will get you on Christmas morning so you can imagine the heat in August.
