6th generation celica (1994-1999)

is the engine in the gt the same as in the gts in 6th generation celicas? (1994-1999)

there was no celica gts for the 6th gen, at least not in the US. the US 6th gen gt had the 5s-fe (2.0L camry 4 cyl), the st had the 7a-fe (1.6L corolla engine). Other places got some different models including a turbocharged, awd gt-4.

you might be mistaken... the 94-99 celica is the 6th generation and there is a gt and gts (there is also the st). i'm in canada and they did make the gts here atleast... i'm looking for a 6th gen celica but didn't know if the engines are the same or not. although, i have been looking on this forum and found out the engines ARE the same. the only difference between the gt and gts is the power options such as pl, pw, pm, p sunroof and all that fun stuff.. i would just assume i should get the gt since it wouldn't have the little extra bit of weight from the electronics..

ok I guess in canada there was a gts, In the US there definately was not.

if you don't care about the fun stuff just get the gt and save the wieght and money...
