Question 1997 Chevy Suburban

We just purchased a 1997 Chevy Surburban. A remote keyless entry fob was provided, but it did not work. We bought a new fob from e-bay with the same FCC #: ABO1502T. Unfortunately, none of the suggested programming from the archive has worked. First, we grounded #8 b/w wire and pressed the unlock/lock buttons on the remote. The locks cycled after grounding, but did not respond to the remote. Second, we fused link between #8 and #4, and once again the locks cycled, but the remote did not respond. Of course, the battery was verified as good.

Is it possible that the FCC code of the remote is incorrect for this year/make/model? Is there another programming method we could try?

Thanks in advance.

Check around. Some of the auto parts stores will program it for free.
