Help deciding on colors

I'm needing help on the colors of my car. I have a 1998 Dodge Neon, 2-door, w/ sun/moonroof, and all the nice power everything. Well the color of the car i like a lot, amethyst, because sometimes its hard to tell if its purple or blue? Most of the time its purple, but when its been recently washed its a lot harder to determine... Well I recently did my dash and such in purple and white to match the car and eventually i would like to add more color to my car including the seats, mats, neons, and ect. But I would like other colors than just Purple and White (it starts to make my car look like the box for the Good and Plenty licorice candies.) But i came to realize that it is hard to match a color w/ the purple. I came across several combinations that would look alright but I would really like a 3rd color to make it stand out!

Color schemes I thought about (all include white):
Purple & Yellow - much like the minnisota vikings or the Lakers
Purple & Green - reminds me too much of the purple dinosaur....
Purple & Aqua - Colors used for the PS2 logo
Purple & Red - Looks "iffy"
Purple & Orange - like the suns, but would have to do major work to make it look right

What do you guys think? I would appreciate anyones advice!!!

Re: Help deciding on colors

You dont want to many colors man. The purple and white is a good idea. If I had a purple car i would make the whole interior white and black, cause those 2 colors go with everything. Deffinitly stay away from yellow and red that would be pretty dame ugly.

For sure...if you absolutely have to go with more than white, which I think would look cool, especially rims...go with a blue and keep the colors cool. Warm colors dont usually mix with cool colors, for example Red and Blue, Orange and Green, Yellow and Purple - with exceptions. If the car is a straight color, as in a bold hue with no other values (addition of black or white), mixing colors is hard. But with the color of neons you can buy these days thats all you will get. Pink would look good if you want a girly looking car, otherwise stick to the blue. Aqua wouldnt look very good, so keep it to a royal blue. I think that would look nice. And like Beastiek2 said...black and white will always be universal with anything as long as you use them appropriately.

Re: Help deciding on colors

I just read that you said it was a purple blue, so the aqua might actually look fine.
