Re: LS engine upgrades

Go for the basic intake, header and exhaust mods first. An intake you can make yourself and not spend over 50 bucks. Call around to your local muffler shop and see how much a custom header and exhaust will cost. Some places are cheaper than the pre-built stuff. But after you start working on your motor think about your suspension. Then more power you squeeze out of your motor the harder it is for the suspension. Go for the rotor, calipers and brakepads upgrades first. Then get thicker swaybars, strut bars, performance struts and springs. You'll be able to turn on a dime and give back change. Trust me when I say you will love the way your car wil handle after the suspension mods.

Re: LS engine upgrades

best bang for the buck for my 95 teggy is a cold air intake, hi-flow cat, iridum spark plugs and some fuel management bolt-ons. But for a bit more pricy stuff go with a full cat back exhaust, header, intake manifold, throttle body, clutch and flywheel.

for the most noticable power, i would get some crower 62403 cams with the upgrade valvsprings. gonna cost about $500. should increase your power by 15 whp. but before u put in a set of cams, u wanna free up the flow of the engine first. get and intake, HEADERS, and exhaust. might want to upgrade the fuel system with a fuel presssure regulator too. but go with the usual intake exhaust and headers 1st before u install some cams

go get the exhaust that i have on my car. it's called a TSUDO N1 full catback exhaust with about 2.4" diameter piping. it sounds really deep and throaty and wont give that annoying high pitched sound. i baught mine off of ebay for $250 shipped to my front door. if u want, u can IM the guy i baught my exhaust from. his aol IM sn is "TOPEBAYSELLER888" and his ebay sn is nissangtrpower. he's a really cool guy. u can also get ur header from him. i have a TSUDO 4-1 header that i baught from him too for $150 buck. both are EXCELLENT quality products. im very satified with my purchase and u will be too

Re: LS engine upgrades

that guy so go make a home made intake, omg. Well most of those modify cost aleast around 2k. I suggest u add a wet turbo kit on. Around $2,500-$3,000 depend on name brand. It comes with intake, turbo manifold (instead of your header), with thermastat, intercooler, and oil cooler.

Re: LS engine upgrades

if you want power for cheap, your best bet is to save your money for a turbo, period. The power/money ratio can't be beat... even with a relatively small amount of boost you'll have a lot more power than any bolt ons can do for the price.... 2 cents

I agree! For the money you just can't beat a turbo kit.

ok...i'm going give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are mentally handicapped. when i said don't reply to old threads, i wasnt being a bitch, but no one likes for old threads to be brought up. Just look at the date before replying if you're confused.

Re: LS engine upgrades

definetly save up for a turbo kit. Especially with an LS motor, you can see some very good gains because the stock motor can easily handle 9-10psi+.
