Replacing Strut Bearings On Achieva S

Hello everyone, I am a new car learner. I have some good skills working on cars. I keep my car out of the shop though. I call myself the CAR LEARNER because there is always someone out there who knows more than I do and I can always learn new things. I have all the necessary tools needed to change my front strut bearings on my '94 Olds Achieva S, are there any great precautions I need to acknowledge before doing so? I have the Haynes book on how to do them, but sometimes everything is not always listed. Thanks in advanced.

Re: Replacing Strut Bearings On Achieva S

It should be fairly straight forward if you follow the Haynes book. Just make sure you have the correct tools if the springs need to be taken off the struts. Some cars are set up so you can pull the whole assembly without removing the springs but if not, rent the proper tool. You don't want to have a spring break lose when you are trying to take the assembly apart (it could easily take your head off).
