Re: 350z good or bad

if have also seen tons of 350's on the street. they are great cars from what i read and what i heard. i have seen the nismo s-tune one and it was awesome. i don't know why a lot of people would want to get rid of it. it is probably women that got bored of it and just threw it out like they do to men.

Re: 350z good or bad

I think it's too much of a sports car for most people. I've driven 2 of them and they are PHENOMENAL CARS. Very comfortable, responsive, balanced and confidence inspiring...much like Zs of the past...but most people look for either a little more comfort (eg G35...a 4 seater 350Z) or drag strip type cars...not true SPORTS CARS...tis a damn shame.

You got a very good deal on yours, man. You even got the same trim that I would. It's the least frilly one...Touring is too cooshy, Track is too expensive and not really worth it...the Base and Enthusiest don't have the cool headlights, stability management, 18" rims, tire pressure monitors, etc...the Performance is perfect. What color?

I don't like the lack of factory turbos but after driving a few I can say that it doesn't hurt it at all. The styling maybe be a little off in my opinion but it sells and its hard to argue with that.

The good thing, and probably the reason why you see so many used ones, is that they are fairly high volume as far as sports cars go. In a few years they'll be down into the the 4 digit range, a great deal for a younger buyer.

The only problems with the car from the tuner perspective is the highly tempermental stock ECU and the fact that the car responds very well to some modifications (intake and headers notably) and poorly to others (some problems with cam swaps from what I've read).

Re: 350z good or bad

a lot of the 350's were probably leased right away, and now they're getting off the lease and being put for sale

Ehh...under $10,000 in a few years? You're saying they're going to depreciate over $20,000 in 3-4 years? Uuuummmmmmmm......

Re: 350z good or bad

very true llz on the depriciation, look it the 350z's predecessor, it depriciated about 20k in ~10 years. so i think that the 350z will follow abou the same path.

Re: 350z good or bad

I doubt that. The reason the Z32 depreciated so greatly was because they were very expensive when new due in part to the recessive times and most people won't pay much more for them than what they go for now. The same exact thing would be true for the MkIV supra if it weren't for those wretched movies. Those cars went for a TON of money when new and they just wouldn't be going for anywhere near that if it weren't for those stupid movies.

This time around, Nissan is keeping the prices decent in hopes of avoiding duplicating the past.

that is true. nissan definitely does not want to make that mistake again. they did not make half the amount of money that they expected to off the z32. thats sad. a great car. just a little ahead of its time. and when things are ahead of their time they tend to cost too much money for their time. oh well. always learn from mistakes.

i doubt the 350z will be down in the 4 digits in 3-4 years. for all we know fast and the furious 3 will come out starring a 350z and then they will cost more than they did brand new. i say they will run for about 45,000 after that movie. (*little exaggeration*)

Considering that a base model 350Z is in the mid 20s range, its not that hard to imagine that a well used model could end up in the high 4 digits in the next 5 years. First year production runs will be pushing 10 years old by then. That and they make a hell of alot more of them then they did Z32s. But >$10,000 might be pessimistic. Figure 10-15K.

As for the Z32 being ahead of its time, its still ahead of alot of cars even though it was designed in the late 80s. That and its still looks throughly modern and stylish, something that can't be said of just about any car that doesn't have "Ferrari" stamped on its ass.

Re: 350z good or bad

Great cars! I would have to go with the TRACK model though! All those goodies? Ever see their two-step window system? Awseome little details like that get me off! I like the fact there are TT kits for them now too! Too bad I will probably never find a used Track-Model for sale any time soon...

Re: 350z good or bad

yes, if i was to get a 350z, it would definitely be the track model. people are like, well, the enthusiast or touring is better because has more comforts, i don't care, that isn't what you get a sports car for. if you want comforts, go get the g35.
