need some advice on my set up

Hi all just got my new Image Dynamics IDQ10 D2 V2 sub today, also rebuilt my box now its alot smaller how i want and it has a volume of 0.52. Got a couple questions on hooking it all up 2ohm stuff is all new to me.

Right now I have a Rockford Fosgate 501X amp powering every thing. For the sub I have it bridge off the rear 2 channels L+ and R- then on the sub i have one wire to a + on one side then on the - on the other side then another wire connecting the other + and -. Do I have this set up right and does my amp have enough to push the sub or do i need to get a second amp for it

you have the voice coils on the sub wired in series - I am assuming the sub is a dual 2 ohm model. That's a good way to do it for that fosbreak amp. Since you have 2 channels bridged for the sub, you probably don't want an impedance less than 4 ohms - fosbreaks tend to live up to their nickname when you do that.

Re: need some advice on my set up

Im thinking this amp isnt gonna work to well for this sub, probably should have got the duel 4 one.

the power rating are this for the amp
4ohm rms 65x4
2ohm rms 125x4
4ohm bridged 250x2

now i dont know much about duel voice coil subs it says min 4ohm bridged so if i have this sub bridged is it gonna mess up my amp?

no, you got the right one ........ when you wire the 2 voice coils in series, it becomes a single 4 ohm sub - when you bridge two of the channels on the amp, it can put out as much as 250 watts into that 4 ohm load. You can use the other two channels for the front speakers.

that's always the trick, and the balance seems to vary from song to song
